Vladimir Putin has lost over one thousand soldiers in a single day as Ukraine resiliently repels Russia’s latest onslaught.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claimed 1,050 Russian military personnel were lost yesterday, with 18 tanks also being destroyed.
Kyiv also suggested 102 vehicles and tankers, 51 artillery systems and 73 UAVs were taken out.
Despite Ukrainian troops showing resilience yesterday, Russia’s losses come after more than 1,000 soldiers from the ex-Soviet state were killed during the batle to establish a bridgehead in a southern Kherson fishing village.
Combat in Krynky lasted for months, with Russian forces finally overwhelming Ukrainian marines following an enlistement boost.
The UK’s Ministry of Defence revealed Putin is continuing to launch offensive operations.
Russia mounted its illegal invasion in February 2022, with several recruitment drives needed to offset losses.
Kyiv fired back with a drone attack against a major Russian oil company overnight.

Officials from the Krasnodar region in southern Russia claimed that debris from a drone had been shot down, causing a fire at the Black Tea Tuapse oil refinery.
The Kremlin claimed Russia destroyed 75 drones, including eight near the Tuapse.
“The enemy pays no attention to their fairly high level of losses and continues to push through towards Pokrovsk,” Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi said in a statement.
In the MoD’s weekend update, the UK also suggested Russia was continuing to make minor advances into Ukraine.
The MoD said: “Russia continues offensive operations on several areas of the front line.
“It is likely that the Avdiivka-Pokrovsk sector in the Donetsk Oblast remains the Russian main effort and consequently has seen the highest operational tempo by Russian forces over the last month.
“Russian forces have continued to gain territory to the north and west of the town of Ocheretyne, expanding its salient towards the town of Pokrovsk.”
The update added: “In the Avdiivka-Pokrovsk sector, Russia has made minor advances into the town of Niu-York, a heavily fortified area of the front line and the last remaining point of the pre-2022 line of contact that existed between Ukrainian and Russian-led separatist forces.”
