Chris Philp condemns assault by ‘fanatical protestor’ on GB News journalist

Tory MP Chris Philp has condemned the assault of a GB News journalist over the weekend, slamming them as a “fanatical protestor.”

Speaking to Martin Daubney, he said: “I unreservedly condemn what we just saw. We saw that fanatical protester trying to prevent a member of the press, your colleague for GB News, from reporting on what was going on on that street. And if we’re going to have a free society, a democracy, then journalists doing their job mustn’t be impeded.”

It comes after a protester seemed to assault a GB News camera team member during a demonstration in Whitehall, London.
