Conor McGregor has reiterated his desire to return to the octagon as soon as possible after posting results of his latest drugs test.
It’s been over three years since McGregor last fought in the UFC with his comeback fight originally scheduled to be against Michael Chandler.
The two men were set to square off at UFC 303 in June this year, but McGregor withdrew from the contest after breaking a toe.
UFC president Dana White then announced that McGregor’s return would be postponed until 2025.
Any hopes of a fight against Chandler this year were scuppered when it was announced the American agreed to a rematch with Charles Oliveira for November.
McGregor appears to be growing restless about the delay to his comeback, having recently stated his desire to fight in December.
The former two-weight champion took to social media on Tuesday to reveal he’s cleared to fight after his latest drugs test.
McGregor shared a screenshot of the email he received from Drug Free Sport International confirming his negative test result.
The email read: “Dear Conor McGregor, we are pleased to inform you that sample number E004244, that you provided on 13 September 2024, returned a NEGATIVE result from the lab.”
McGregor then used the screenshot to call for the UFC to give him an official date for his return.
“Most tested athlete on the @ufc roster x2,” his comment read.
“I deserve my fight date! #CleanAthlete.”
It was revealed earlier this year that McGregor was the most drug-tested fighter under the UFC’s new anti-doping regime.
The UFC ended his partnership with United States Anti-Doping Agency’s (Usada) at the end of last year and teamed up with Drug Free Sport International.
According to official records on the ufc anti-doping website, McGregor has been tested 11 times this year.
