Former Donald Trump aide Sebastian Gorka has sparked debate on GB News after making remarks about Kamala Harris deemed “morally reprehensible”.

Harris has been endorsed by Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination after the 81-year-old announced his decision to withdraw from the presidential race in a bombshell move.

Gorka joined Mark Dolan on GB News to discuss how Harris would stack up against Donald Trump in a race for the White House.

“This disaster whose only qualification is having a vagina and the right skin colour…” he said before being interrupted by GB News host Mark Dolan.

“That is pretty unkind language about the vice president”, he said.

“This is an accomplished lawyer and senior politician and the vice president of your country, do you wish to take back that rather sexist remark?”, he asked.

Gorka doubled down on his comments that were slammed later on by former Labour candidate Paul Richards.

“I don’t wish to take back that remark”, he insisted.

“It is a statement of fact, she is the diversity hire. I take nothing back. This is a woman who garnered less than three per cent of the vote in the Democrat vote.

“This is a great day for those who want to take America back from those trying to destroy it.”

Asked about Gorka’s remarks, Richards offered his analysis: “I thought they were pretty disgusting, actually.

“They were morally reprehensible and it sets the tone of how the Trump campaign wants to run this campaign.

“It’s through invective slurs and unpleasant language and being nasty about their opponents, and bring it on.

“Most decent Americans will look at that kind of language and reject it.”

Political commentator Chloe Dobbs said she sympathised with Gorka’s view, but felt he worded it too strongly.

“I wouldn’t have used exactly the same words, but he does have a point”, she said.

“Being a woman of colour in this world definitely gives you a leg up. She is very unpopular and she is often accused of using word soup, no one understands what she stands for, she is a very weak candidate.

“How do you get to that position when you’re that unpopular? I think the colour of your skin and the fact you’re a woman plays some part.”
